Attending the 46th annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show was an exceptional experience on many levels. If you have not attended this show I'd highly recommend! Too far to travel? You can check out their website which has a listing of all the participating artists and information on the show.
This was my first out of state show, so packing my entire booth display for travel was top of mind. After several days playing a game of packing-Tetris, I successfully packed everything I needed into multiple bags (all evenly divided and meticulously weighed to be under the airline checked bag max) and was ready to head the airport with my bags!
The craft show committee members provided a wonderful experience for the exhibiting vendors. The preview party on Thursday evening was a dressy affair filled with good music and good people and the rest of the multi-day event was just as magical.
Conversations with customers are one of my favorite things about in-person craft shows. As you know, I love talking about rocks and I always learn something new from people I meet. Many of the exhibiting artists were veterans of the craft show and provided valuable show tips.
Some best sellers included my stone pendants. Several customers added the new charm to their current necklaces for an elegant splash of color and sparkle.
Thanks to all of my customers and fellow artists for making the show a memorable event, I will definitely be applying again next year!
