A grounding stone, pietersite is known for discharging negative energy, cleansing the aura, and promoting calm.

Pietersite is a variety of Quartz, composed naturally of Tiger's Eye, Hawk's Eye and Jasper. It's attractive silky luster is from the natural chatoyancy of this stone. 

Only found in Namibia, Africa, pietersite was named after Sid Pieters who discovered it in 1962 while looking for farm land. Some believed it was a tempest stone because of its swirling colors that resembled a storm.

Wash in warm soapy water.
