Colors can vary from a gemmy, translucent pink to an opaque pink.
The word rhodonite comes from the greek word rhodos, meaning rose colored. A popular ornamental stone, it was first discovered in Argentian in 1930 and is the state gemstone for Massachusetts. Deposits can be found in several states in the US, as well as Sweden, Brazil, Canada, and Peru.
Wash in warm soapy water. Can use a soft bristled tooth brush to clean.
