Only found in western Utah, most tiffany stone is crushed and used to produce beryllium.
Very few collectors and miners searching for material have been allowed into the mine to extract tiffany stone to be used as gemstones which is why it is higher priced due to limited availability.
A rare material, tiffany stone is made up of fluorite, opal, bertrandite, quartz, and/or chalcedony and was found in Utah in 1968.
