Used as a grounding stone and has been used to calm the brain by receiving anxiety and stress. Variscite can also enhance joy and feelings of peace and harmony while wearing.

Sometimes can be confused with turquoise, Variscite is a green stone with a black spiderwebbing matrix that is more rare and less common.

Sources are found in Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Brazil, Germany, Australia, Spain, and Poland.

Variscite was originally found in 1837 and named after Variscia, the historical name for the Vogtland district in Saxony, Germany.

Wash in warm soapy water.
