Dumortierite is believed to be a stone of self-reliance and discipline and can promote patience.

Often mistaken for sodalite or lapis, dumortierite, sometimes referred to as the blue denim stone, has been used in the manufacturing of high grade porcelain.

Sources found in France, Madagascar, Canada, Brazil, Austria, Russia, Nevada, Poland, Peru, Norway, Sri Lanka, and Namibia.

First discovered in France, 1881. 

Wash in warm soapy water.
