A chatoyant gemstone with golden to red-brown color. Mostly mined in Africa and Australia. The related blue colored mineral hawk's eye or eagle eye get their silky appearance from the growth of quartz crystals.

Roman soldiers wore engraved tiger's eye to protect them in battle.In ancient Egypt, it was revered as a symbol of the sun god Ra and used to grant strength and protection.

Wash in warm, soapy water.
